"Us" in this case is actually myself and my Colombian girlfriend Patricia. I was fortunate enough to be able to retire in 2007 at the ripe old age of 50, from a 25 year career in medical sales. Patricia and I thought it would be nice to have a vacation home in Panama, so I traveled there alone in late 2007 to look around. All I really wanted was a nice house on some land with great views, and I didn't want to pay too much. I visited all of the popular places (Valle de Anton, Coronado, Boquete, Pedasi, etc) and all I could find were tiny, expensive lots with neighbors packed in like sardines. I was not impressed at all, and I was about ready to go back home to Florida.
Then I discovered the western slope of the Azuero peninsula, and everything fell into place. I liked this beautiful area so much that I bought 102 acres, and Ocean Ridge Estates was born. In my humble opinion, if you're looking for land, privacy, and a true quality lifestyle in Panama (but don't want to pay too much for it), then this is the best project in the entire country. Not only can you combine ocean and mountain lifestyles on your large mini ranch estate, the project is also bordered by the Black River, the largest river in the region. We built our personal house on lot #3 and we spend most of our time there, so you can be sure that we are committed to this project.
My buyers so far are adventurous, fun people who are excited about their future lives in Panama. I send out a regular newsletter to keep everybody informed, and they are already emailing and communicating with each other, discussing building plans, sharing expenses, etc. I truly believe that Ocean Ridge Estates is well on its way to becoming the best little community in Panama.
Come on down and see for yourself - we'll keep a light on for you!
